Inspirée par Fashionable Stamping Challenges, je vous présente ma "Thing with Wings" (chose avec des ailes). Encore un badge transformé (oui, j'entretiens mon addiction...), avec pleins d'ailes de papillon cette fois!
Inspired by Fashionable Stamping Challenges, I present you my "Thing with Wings" (litterally!). I once again gave in to my addiction to repurposed badges, with the help of quite a few butterfly wings this time.
Pour le plus grand papillon, j'ai utilisé un matière particulière: le film alimentaire recyclé. Lorsque je travaille avec des encres, des sprays ou des teintures, je me recouvre généralement ma surface de travail de film alimentaire pour la protéger et pour pouvoir déplacer facilement mes pièces. C'est particulièrement pratique pour les teintures que je fais ensuite cuire au micro-ondes. Bien qu'aqueuses, les couleurs finissent par sécher sur le film que je replis ensuite sur lui-même et repasse entre deux couches de papier sulfurisé (ou de craftsheet). On obtient une fine plaque de plastique translucide et flexible, aux usages variés. Ici j'ai tamponné dessus avec de la Stazon noire puis ai découpé le papillon pour faire mon fond.
The biggest butterfly is made of upcycled cling film (or plastique wrap). When working with inks or dyes, I protect my work surface with cling film. It also makes it easier to move the projects, espeacially the dyed ones that I microwave. Even full of water, the colours end up drying on the film. I then fold it on it-self and iron it between two layers of baking parchment (or craftsheet). The result is a thin, flexible and translucide plastique sheet, with lots of potentials uses. Here, I stamped the butterfly on it with black Stazon ink and cut it out.
Les petites ailes (Dolls Plate 2 de PaperArtsy) sont tamponnées sur de l'acétate et le verso est peint avec du Bindex DYNA bleu de Pébéo (un liant acrylique avec des pigments iridescents).
The small wings (Dolls Plate 2 from PaperArtsy) were stamped on acetate and the back was painted with blue Bindex DYNA from Pébéo (an acrylic binder with iridescent pigments).
Les ailes des pendentifs sont en plastique fou. J'y ai d'abord appliqué une très fine couche de peinture blanche ce qui a permis d'y tamponner le papillon (Kaiserkraft) avec de la Versafine puis de le colorer avec des encres. Une fois découpées, perforées et réduites, j'ai recouvert les ailes de vernis en bombe pour les protéger.
The wing pendants are made of shrink plastic. I first cover it with a thin coat of white paint to be able to stamp the butterfly (Kaiserkraft) on it with Versafine and colour it with inks. Once cut out, punched and shrunk, the wings were sprayed with varnish to protect them.
L'élément principal est aussi en plastique fou tamponné, travaillé de la même manière que les pendants puis collé derrière un Facet de Tim Holtz. J'ai profité du trou pour insérer une tige décorée qui retient la chaine. Un ligne de perles met en valeur l'ovale et l'intègre à l'ensemble.
The main element is also made of stamped shrink plastic. I use the same techniques as with the pendants then glued it to one of Tim Holtz's Facets. I used the hole to add a decorative headpin to hold the chain. A line of bead highlights the central piece and ties it to the other elements.
